For generations, LGBTQ+ people have lived, worked, raised families, built businesses, served in community roles and strengthened neighborhoods across Alamance County.
Many did so quietly while others took very public risks. Their work created new possibilities for those of us who would come after them. Today, Alamance County is a place of growth and change, where historic mill towns stand alongside thriving small businesses, colleges and universities, parks and downtown districts, and communities connected by a shared hope for the future.
Alamance Pride, a 501(c3) nonprofit organization, is the leader in LGBTQ+ visibility in Alamance County.
Since its founding in 2015, Alamance Pride has expanded its programming and partnerships to weave the LBGTQ+ community into the civic fabric of Alamance County. We work to develop strong leadership and ensure that the LGBTQ+ community has a seat at the table in community affairs.

- Hosting the annual Alamance Pride festival and the 21+ Pride After Dark Drag Show
- Organizing monthly See and Be Seen social events across Alamance County in partnership with LGBTQ+ friendly businesses
- Awarding the annual Alamance Pride Scholarship to a local high school senior
- Hosting a float in the annual Burlington Christmas Parade
- Developing enduring relationships with straight allies, individuals and organizations
- Celebrating the history and accomplishments of LGBTQ+ people
- Demonstrating respect and appreciation for diversity within the community we serve
